Variations Within a Species
This unit has been designed to help deepen the students’ understanding of how variations exist within the same species, and how these variations are carried through genetic material. The students will be involved in obtaining information about the presence of specific characteristics within their family. They will design a means of recording their position in their family over a number of generations, illustrating a specific characteristic. The students will then be involved in researching information about a type of animal, which is bred to produce a specific characteristic.
