In this unit, the students will investigate their neighbourhood, including the wider community. They will describe their own neighbourhood and they will recognise ways in which their neighbourhood is similar and different to others. The students will identify the needs of people and explore ways in which the community meets these needs. The students will listen to guest speakers and go on a walk around the community. They will talk to their parents about how communities have changed. The students will also imagine how their neighbourhood may look in the future.
