The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe: C.S. Lewis

In this unit, the students will explore the text, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, by C S Lewis. In the reading component, the students will illustrate and label Mr Tumnus, gather evidence about the characters in the story and explore narratives in which there is movement from one world into another. The students will also participate in a Narnia quiz, research information about the author and even make Turkish delight! In the writing component, they will write a diary entry from Lucy’s point of view. They will also create their own narrative in which there is movement between two worlds. Finally, they will write a biography for C.S. Lewis. In Talking & Listening, the students will interview characters, discuss Edmund’s faults and motivations and participate in a debate “The movie is better than the book”.
