Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing: Judy Blume
This unit of work is based on Judy Blume’s book, “Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing”. The students will have the book read to them during shared reading. The tasks in all content strands will relate to the text. The students will jointly construct and then independently construct a written procedure, exposition and description. The reading tasks are aimed at developing the students’ reading skills, and deepening their understanding of the text, by examining specific events and settings and characters. The students will engage in talking and listening tasks, which will develop their listening skills and their understanding of oral narratives, discussions and recounts.
