Space
This unit of work is based on a space theme. The tasks in all content strands will relate to the theme. The students will have the stories, “Flat Stanley in Space” and “Aliens for Breakfast” read to them during shared reading. They will jointly construct and then independently construct a written narrative, information report and description. The reading tasks are aimed at developing the students’ reading skills, and deepening their understanding of the novels, and of the structure and grammatical patterns associated with different text types. The students will engage in talking and listening tasks, which will develop their talking and listening skills and their understanding of oral narratives, information reports and descriptions.
