Recycling to Conserve Our Environment
This unit has been designed to help deepen the students’ understanding of the importance of recycling as a means of conserving the environment. The students will be involved in analysing the school’s current system of waste disposal. They will measure the amount of rubbish and will examine how this is being disposed of. They will write a report, which details the method of disposal identifying the strengths of the system and areas that need to be improved. The students will then investigate worm farming as a specific means of composting. They will set up a farm and then design a plan to manage and maintain the farm.
