Speak to usThis unit of work has been designed to help deepen the students’ understanding of rainforests. The students will discuss what a rainforest is and where they are located throughout the world. They will investigate the structure of a rainforest. They will identify one rainforest and will create a mural of both the plants and animals which live in the rainforest. They will create an accompanying card which identifies the plant or animal and relevant information about it. The students will then investigate how we use rainforests and the different resources it provides us with. They will then examine the effect humans have had on rainforests and will create a flow chart which illustrates this. Finally the students will create a poster which demonstrates what we can do at different levels of society to help preserve our rainforests.
