Poetry
This unit is based on Poetry. The tasks in all content strands will relate to the theme.
The students will jointly construct and then independently construct different types of poems such as ballads, free verse poems, Haiku and sonnets. The reading tasks are aimed at developing the students’ reading skills, and deepening their understanding of poetry by examining the language, and poetic devices and how these enhance the meaning. The students will engage in talking and listening tasks, which will develop their skills by listening to, reciting and discussing poetry.
