People Who Keep us Healthy
In this unit, the students will identify the different types of people who help us when we are sick or injured. They will recognise the role of specific health care workers. The students will create a poster for a health care worker and share this with the other class members. They will identify particular health issues they may have and the appropriate health care worker who would help them. The students will visit a nursing home or hospital and record the different health care workers and equipment they see. The students will also visit the school sick room and make a first aid kit of their own. The students will listen to a health care worker and create a personal list of emergency numbers.
