People In Our Community
In this unit, the students will develop their skills in reading, writing and talking and listening through a study of people in our community. They will listen to information texts about people who do specific jobs in our community. They will complete reading activities based upon these information texts, which will develop their reading skills and strategies. The students will contribute to the joint construction of simple information texts. They will also independently write brief information texts about people in the community. The students will listen to guest speakers and complete talking and listening activities aimed at improving their skills in interacting and communicating with others.
