People and Events That Have Shaped Our Identity
This unit has been designed to help the students develop an understanding of how significant events, and the achievements of past and present Australians, have helped to shape our Australian identity. The students will identify significant events and people who have helped shape our identity, and will place these people and events on a timeline, showing their place in Australian history. They will then choose one of these as the basis for their research. The students will research information about their chosen topic and in doing so will further develop their research skills. The students, on the completion of their research will be divided into groups to present their work to other students in the class.
