Nursery Rhymes
In this unit, the students will develop their skills in reading, writing and talking and listening through a study of Nursery Rhymes.
They will listen to nursery rhymes read aloud to them and they will complete reading activities such as sequencing pictures, text reconstructions and matching sentences based upon these rhymes. The students will contribute to the joint construction of a recount telling what happened to Humpty Dumpty. They will retell Jack and Jill, innovate Hickory, Dickory, Dock, write a literary description of a nursery rhyme character and write a description of the spider in Little Miss Muffet. The students will complete talking and listening activities based upon the nursery rhymes they have listened to in the unit.
