Natural and Built Australian Icons
This unit explores the natural and built features of Australia through music, drama, dance and visual arts. The students will listen to and learn the Australian Anthem. They will explore the beat, pitch and dynamics of the song. The students will view images which represent the parts of the anthem and they will create their own paintings and power point presentations to accompany the song. The students will use materials and props in movements to represent Australian landscapes and built environments. They will create a simple Australian rap. The students will also use clay to create a model of a natural or built environment, and then imagine that they are potters and clay in a drama exercise.
