Levers, Pulleys and Gears
This unit has been designed to help deepen the students’ understanding of some simple machines and how they work. The students will be involved in investigating how levers, pulleys and gears work. They will make these machines and examine the work that they do, and where they can be found in the environment. The students will then be given a problem and will be required to design and make a simple machine which will help them overcome this problem.
