In this unit the students will investigate the concept of perimeter. They will explore ways in which they can determine the distance around a flat object or 2D shape. They will use informal units, as well as investigating how they could use a ruler. The students will also order 3 simple 2d shapes according to perimeter. They will prove their order by measuring the perimeter by using informal or formal units.
