Speak to usIn this unit, the students will investigate how aspects of daily life have changed over time. They will interview an older person to explore how technology has changed the way daily chores are done within the home. They will interview an older person and write a recount describing how meal times have changed. They will examine clothes worn for different purposes and will use information texts to create a labelled diagram showing how clothes have changed. They will listen to a guest speaker talk about toys in the past and create a chart which compares how toys were and the way they are now. Finally the students will analyse historical photographs showing school life in the past. They will imagine that they are apart of the scene in the photograph, and will create a freeze frame. If historical photographs are unavailable then the students will listen to a guest speaker talk about school life. They will use this information, and information found in other sources to create a role play showing what school life was like for previous generations.
