Helpful and Harmful Drugs
This unit of work has been developed to help deepen the students’ understanding of the different types of drugs that are present in society. The students will examine prescription drugs, other drugs taken for medical reasons, legal and illegal drugs. They will then choose one type of drug as the basis for their research. The students will discuss anti-drug campaigns as a means of informing people about the dangers of drug use, and on a personal level will discuss and role-play ways of saying no to drugs.
