Fractions and Decimals 3.1
In this unit the students will investigate the concept of fractions. The students will create a regular shape on the Geoboard such as a square or hexagon. They will divide this shape into 6 equal parts. They will identify the value of the smaller shape if the large shape has the value of 1. The students will also use concrete materials to represent thirds, sixths and twelfths.
