Fractions and Decimals 2.3
In this unit the students will investigate the concept of fractions. The students will make a square on the Geoboard. They will create 4 smaller squares within this shape. They will find the value of the smaller square if the large square has the value of 1. The students will then select a long from the Base 10 material. If this is given the value of 1, they will find the value of a short. They will then build models with the Base 10 material and calculate their value.
