Fractions and Decimals 2
In this unit the students will investigate the concept of fractions. They will be given 3 different shaped and different sized pieces of paper. The students will fold these in half and recognise that halves of different pieces of paper can be different sizes and different shapes. The students will also receive a worksheet where they must identify the shapes which have been divided in half and those which haven’t. The students will cut the shapes to prove their thinking and will then sort the shapes.
