Fighting Disease
This unit of work has been developed to help deepen the students’ understanding of the different ways that we can keep ourselves free from disease. The students will examine the stages of an infectious disease, and will look at the body’s natural defence systems and the ways that we can maintain our defence systems. They will then examine other methods of fighting disease such as immunisation and antibiotics. The students will also identify a disease and research it, describing information such as symptoms, treatments and ways of preventing the disease.
