Speak to usIn this mini unit, the students will listen and respond to the story “Fantastic Mr Fox” by Roald Dahl. They will complete reading tasks such as a character profile, wanted poster and a story map. The students will explore the structure of narratives and contribute to the joint construction of an innovation on the text. They will also write their own narrative in which they invent a new way to catch Mr Fox. The students will make a model of this idea to catch the fox and they will sketch the steps showing how it works. The students will then give an oral explanation on how to catch Mr Fox in the talking and listening component of the unit. They will also hot seat Mr Fox, play a description game and read their narratives to another class.
