Speak to usThis unit will allow the students to explore colour and its use in artworks. The students will appreciate that colour can change the mood of an artwork. The students will explore the artworks of Piet Mondrian, Paul Klee, Edvard Munch and Gunta Stolzl, and explore how each used colour in their artwork. Students will discuss and reflect on each artists’ work and consider how they can use colour in their own artwork by mixing and exploring the powerful way colour can be used to create moods and designs.
Please note this unit uses the following resources Piet Modrian: 1920, “A Composition with Black, Red, Grey, Yellow and Blue”, Paul Klee: “Southern (Tunisian) Garden” and “Remembrance Of A Garden”, Edvard Munch: “The Scream” and Gunta Stolz #203 titled ‘Wall hanging in Red and Green’. This unit includes web links to these pieces of art only.
