Boss of the Pool: Robin Klein
This unit is based on the Play, “Boss of the Pool” by Robin Klein. The students either read the text in small groups, or have the play read to them. The tasks in all content strands will relate to the text. The students will jointly construct and then independently construct a written play script, procedure and discussion. The reading tasks are aimed at developing the students’ reading skills, and deepening their understanding of the text, by examining the major events in the text, the themes, characterisation and point of view. The students will engage in talking and listening tasks, which will develop their listening and oral presentation skills and their understanding of oral discussions and expositions.
