In this unit, the students will investigate the concept of area. The students will investigate the areas of rooms in the school. They will begin to explore faster ways of calculating area, e.g.: by visualising repeated rows of units. The students will then choose square and rectangular shapes and calculate the area by visualising and/or drawing the repeated units.
