This unit is based on Advertising. The tasks in all content strands will relate to advertising. The students will jointly construct and then independently construct two written expositions and a discussion. The reading tasks are aimed at developing the students’ reading skills, and deepening their understanding of advertising by examining the language, images and how these are used to position the reader. The students will engage in talking and listening tasks, which will develop their skills. They will listen to, innovate and perform advertisements. They will discuss stereotyping in advertisements and the effectiveness of the different mediums such as T.V and radio as forms of advertising.
