In this unit, the students will investigate the concept of tessellation. The students will choose one shape and create a tessellating pattern. They will then investigate and describe how the shape was transformed in creating the tessellating pattern. The students will investigate what 4 sided shapes tessellate with each other and why. They will then use this theory to predict which 4 and 5-sided shapes tessellate with themselves.
