In this unit, the students will investigate 2 dimensional shapes. The students will use shapes to create new shapes and describe them. They will investigate their properties and measure them in different ways. The students will then use a different number of equilateral triangles to make different shapes. They will investigate the properties of these new shapes and measure them it different ways. They will also use these new shapes to try and make tessellating patterns.
